Men’s Covert Incest Group

Zoom men from birth. This meeting is for men who were sexually abused as children with a focus on covert incest. Covert incest abuse occurs when the parent uses the child as a surrogate spouse. The parent’s need for companionship is met by the child. As adults, these children struggle with commitment, intimacy, and expressions of healthy sexuality.

The meeting will start with reading the 12 steps of SIA, 1 tradition, and guidelines for safe sharing. The focus will be on reading literature whether from books or articles pertaining to
healing from the effects of covert sexual abuse. There will be an open discussion about the topic followed by an open share that can be related to the reading or on issues related to healing from childhood sexual abuse.

(Trigger warning for outside SIA literature) We will be reading from the book “Boundaries, When to say yes, how to say no to take control of your life” by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend.
