TranslatePress Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

TranslatePress is the WordPress plugin used to complete manual and automated site translations. Most of the site will be translated manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TranslatePress Business plugin is a yearly subscription, the account credentials are in LastPass. Login to TranslatePress<\/a> to manage the account. There are 2 related plugins installed: Automatic Translate Addon For TranslatePress, and TranslatePress Multilingual. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TranslatePress Settings<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Manage the translation button and other options with the TranslatePress Settings, General tab<\/a>. It is also where you can add languages<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Automated Translation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Use the TranslatePress Automatic Translation tab<\/a> to select the translation service (DeepL or Google Translate). The API keys for both are registered using the accounts@siawso.org<\/a> Google Account. Credentials and keys are in LastPass. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Automatic translation is a service for a fee, charged per character translated per day. Automation is only used as a backup for non-critical content. Text is translated only once per language.\u00a0 To keep the translation free of charge, set \u2018Limit machine translation \/ characters per day\u2019 to less than 5,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Translation Exceptions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

There are things we don’t want to translate, like acronyms and email addresses. To exclude them, use the TranslatePress Settings Advanced Tab<\/a>, find the “Exclude strings” submenu, and add the exclusions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
